National Headquarters

The Love INC National Headquarters, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, serves as the base of operations for the president of Love INC, Robert Odom, and the National Headquarters staff. The Love INC National Headquarters is governed by a national board of directors.

Love INC's National Headquarters carries out many essential functions, the most critical of which are providing leadership, direction, a sense of mission, and a shared understanding of ministry goals to the affiliates, their boards, staffs, and volunteers.

Other key National Headquarters responsibilities are to assist affiliates with incorporation processes, advise on programs, personnel, and fundraising; facilitate training of affiliate staff and board members; coordinate ministry-wide conferences and retreats; carry out strategic planning; respond to information requests; and develop marketing approaches and materials.

National Advisors and National Trainers

National advisors are local affiliate directors that serve as role models, mentors, and encouragers to other affiliates at the request of the National Headquarters. National advisors are vital to the operation of Love INC, particularly as the program encompasses more affiliates in a growing area. They are trained by the National Headquarters to assess the needs of affiliates and make recommendations for training, technical assistance, or other resources. National advisors also serve as mentors to new affiliates, new directors, or new communities that are in the process of development and affiliation.

National trainers are local affiliate directors that are contracted by the Love INC National Headquarters to provide training in the Love INC model and various areas of organizational development. Because the national trainers and national advisors are also directors of their own local Love INC, this helps to ensure that they remain closely connected to the grassroots ministry that is at the heart of Love INC.

Affiliates

Local affiliates are the essence of Love INC. All Love INC affiliates possess certain fundamental characteristics, yet each network is unique, crafting strategies and offering its own special mix of programs and services. Every Love INC affiliate:

  1. Is a Christian ministry.
  2. Networks Christian churches from at least six different denominations to work together.
  3. Forms a nonprofit corporation governed by a local board of directors.
  4. Helps churches organize their volunteers to be available to serve when needed.
  5. Operates a Clearinghouse where intake staff and volunteers screen requests for help as to their nature, extent, and legitimacy.
  6. Connects people in need with church ministries and church volunteers to meet those needs.
  7. Depends on church volunteer involvement.
  8. Builds relationships with community agencies.
  9. Increases the capacity of churches by assessing community needs and creating new ministry opportunities to meet those needs.
  10. Brings a clear vision of how God can use the mobilized Church to transform lives and communities In the Name of Christ.
