Three years ago, I walked into the Love INC of Heartland store feeling alone, overwhelmed, depressed, and scared. I was in a very difficult place in my life trying to raise four children as a single mom, going through a divorce, and living with friends. Although the kids and I felt safe and so appreciated a place to live and the support of our friends, I was looking for guidance on how to navigate this time in my life and to get back on my feet.
Over these last three years, the staff at Love INC have been amazing. Their outreach program was exactly what I needed, and the resources, tools, and guidance provided led me in the right direction. I’ve taken Affirming Potential, Faith & Finance, Boundaries, and the Love and Logic Parenting class. I’ve also participated in the mentoring program. Love INC has become the family that I was so desperately searching for.
In addition to the outreach programs, I feel very blessed to have had the help with groceries, gas cards, clothing, Thanksgiving meals, and the birthday and Christmas gift programs. These have helped me financially to get back on my feet and be able to purchase a townhome and start to build my savings back up. I feel very fortunate to have been connected to Love INC and all of the programs you offer struggling families who need a hand to help guide them on their journey of life. I hope someday that I can be part of this ministry to lend a hand to someone else.
