Nine years ago, Mindi was addicted to heroin, pregnant, and homeless.

She lost custody of her daughter, hit rock bottom, then made the courageous decision to get clean and reached out to Love INC of Metro Tampa in Florida. From sleeping under an overpass to serving as a barista at a church’s social enterprise before becoming operations manager—all while fighting for her parental rights, building a Habitat house and going back to school—Mindi’s story is one both of resilience and a community that was there every step of the way.

Watch Mindi’s story now and join us in praising God for all the church partners that came around her over the years.

I just wanted to be someone that she could look up to... And there was no possible way I could have done it alone.
