Meleda’s Story—

When Meleda first came to the Love INC of Mid-Delmarva in Delaware, she was facing one of life’s hardest seasons. After losing her father, she and her children found themselves without a home—living in a hotel that quickly drained her finances. With courage and determination, she took the first step—one call to Love INC. Over the next 14 months, while living in transitional housing, she worked tirelessly to rebuild her life:

• Through the guidance of a financial mentor, Meleda became debt-free.
• She found a better-paying job.
• Her son graduated high school and went to college.
• And she achieved one of her biggest goals—moving into a privately owned home!

Meleda and her family were the 62nd individuals to go from homeless to housed through Love INC of Mid-Delmarva’s system of accountability, which now celebrates 69 success stories!

Today, Meleda continues to meet with her case manager, Margaret, as she works toward even more goals. When hard work, hope, and  community support come together—the sky is the limit.
