Love INC Kenya began in Nairobi in 2010 and has grown into a national ministry serving communities through 11 operating Zones (affiliates)—six Zones across Nairobi and five additional regional Zones in Machakos, Narok, Gilgil, Nakuru, and Eldoret.

From July 12–20, 2026, an 11-person delegation from Love INC in the United States traveled to Kenya to visit, learn from, and encourage our Love INC colleagues there. Representing eight U.S. affiliates, along with Love INC National, the delegation included leaders and team members serving in a variety of roles across the Movement.

Seeing Love INC Kenya and the Country

Our time in Kenya gave us the opportunity to experience both the ministry of Love INC Kenya and the beauty and culture of the country itself. We visited the Love INC Kenya National Office, where we met with Wendy and Gladys and learned more about how the national team supports the ministry taking place throughout the country. We then spent time visiting Love INC Zones (affiliates) in and around Nairobi, including Mombasa Road, Jogoo Road, and Ngong Road, followed by a visit to Machakos. At each location, we were welcomed as honored guests. We shared meals, met pastors, church leaders, board members, staff, and volunteers, and heard stories of how churches are working together to love and serve their neighbors.

One of the most striking things we encountered was the sense of ownership local churches have for the ministry. As one member of our delegation reflected:

“They don’t ‘do’ Love INC—they ARE Love INC.”

That observation captured something we saw repeatedly: Kenyan churches and pastors understand the ministry as an expression of their calling to love their neighbors, and they take responsibility for seeing that calling lived out in their communities.

We also saw active and engaged boards, passionate ministry leaders, and creative approaches to meeting needs. The delegation was introduced to initiatives such as Rembesha Mama, a ministry of the Mombasa Road Zone that helps women develop business skills so they can provide for their families.

Our experience of Kenya also extended beyond our Love INC visits. At the end of the trip, we traveled to the Masai Mara for game drives, experiencing the remarkable beauty of God’s creation and seeing an amazing variety and number of animals, including Africa’s “Big Five”—lion, leopard, elephant, rhinoceros, and Cape buffalo—as well as giraffes, zebras, and wildebeest.

One Movement, One Calling

A highlight of the trip was participating in the Love INC Kenya National Gathering on July 16–17. In many ways, the gathering felt wonderfully familiar: worship, plenary sessions, keynote teaching, workshops, and opportunities to connect with others serving throughout the Movement. Our delegation also had the opportunity to share reflections with the Kenyan gathering, creating another meaningful exchange between our two Love INC Movements.

The experience reminded us that Love INC may look different from place to place, but the foundation remains the same. Our mission is rooted in the biblical calling for the body of Christ to love God and love our neighbors, with local churches working together to care for their communities. That calling is not limited by geography or culture.

One member of the delegation reflected on the experience this way:

“I witnessed a deep sense of faith, community, and unity in people and churches coming together as one body to care for their neighbors, even in the midst of incredible hardship.”

The experience also challenged our understanding of where true impact comes from: “Our greatest impact doesn’t come from what we have, but from how willing we are to use what God has given us to serve others.”

The Lasting Impact

Perhaps the greatest gift of the trip was what the delegation brought home. We went to Kenya to encourage our brothers and sisters in Love INC Kenya, but we were deeply encouraged ourselves.

We returned with a renewed appreciation for the passion and ownership of our Kenyan colleagues, new ideas for ministry, and a deeper conviction that the Love INC model works across cultures because it is grounded in the biblical calling to love God, love our neighbors, and mobilize the Church to serve together. As one member of the delegation reflected,

“I came home with a different perspective on faith, ministry, and community, and I know I’ll carry what I experienced in Kenya with me for the rest of my life.”
